Feeling Super Better by Kevan Worley
Readers of this page know that I am the CEO of Worley Enterprises. As a result of that role, we decided to launch WE Fit Wellness on January 5th, 2015. The mission of WE Fit Wellness is to bring exercise, nutrition, and wellness options, which are affordable, accessible, and achievable, to people with disabilities and other individuals who, for a variety of reasons, have been left out of this Nation’s wellness movement. Feeling well is not just about exercise and nutrition. It is about overall well-being. It is about pursuit of dreams. It is about finding one’s own fit in family, society, career, recreation, and achievement. Everyone has different dreams. Everyone will choose different achievements, goals, objectives, and life balance. You may know that I’m a big fan of leadership, and motivational books. Lately, of course, with the launch of WE Fit Wellness, I’ve also been reading more exercise and nutrition-related material. For a long time, I would tell anyone who would listen to me, ad nauseum, about “Eat, Move, Sleep,” by Tom Rath. I believe it’s the most practical, motivational, and informative book about how one can adopt a healthier lifestyle. I’ve been reading it for well over a year now. I still listen to it for at least a few minutes, three or four times a month. Tom is visually impaired. I don’t think he would refer to himself as blind.
Recently, Jessica Beecham recommended the book “SuperBetter” to me. It is available on iBooks and Audible. I strongly recommend it. This book has now joined, “Eat, Move, Sleep” as one of my touchstones. It motivates me with additional strategies to, as the National Federation of the Blind would say, “Live the life I want.” So, power up!
